Last night was a prime example of “authentic worship.”
“We Remember: a Benefit Concert Supporting the Olivia Greenlee Memorial Scholarship” was held last evening at West Jackson Baptist Church. A team effort between students, faculty, and staff, the Department of Music teamed up with Zeta Tau Alpha to put on a concert that would celebrate the life of Olivia and glorify the Lord. After a lot of hard work, it happened. The (very full) concert featured ensembles in the Department of Music, highlighted some of Olivia’s ZTA sisters, and even premiered 2 songs written about Olivia’s passing. And the number one goal was reached: we reached our monetary goal to fund the scholarship!
Songs were sung, scripture was read, testimonies were given, and the name of Jesus was lifted up. All who were in attendance certainly caught a glimpse of the Father tonight. As I heard someone put it today, “If heaven is any better than that, I don’t know if I’ll be able to handle it.”
