Showing People Love and Sharing Him.
That’s what SPLASH is all about. It’s our local missions camp put on by the Chattooga Baptist Association. 2010 was its inaugural year and this year was even better!
This year, I was a team leader in the Social 2 group (the best group there, might I add). My partner, Maghan Woods, and I led a group of six teens in ministering to the older generation of Chattooga County. We visited the senior center and the OakView Assisted Living where we threw luaus! This was complete with hula skirts, leis, fingernail painting, hair clips…and even Bran and Codie sported the coconut and shell bras!
This was the real leader of the group. Maghan was awesome to work with and so much fun to be around. And not to brag, but get us two singing “Sixteen Going on Seventeen,” and we will make Rodgers and Hammerstein wish they had casted us for the parts of Rolf and Liesel.
And one more thing: We decided to give the residents at OakView Suites a little taste of our kind of music. We broke out the Cha-Cha Slide and the Cupid Shuffle. The residents loved it!
