Goin’ to the Mountains

Anyone in the upper part of the South knows what the phrase “goin’ to the mountains” means. It means East Tennessee or western North/South Carolina. Now that the Christmas holidays are over, my family and I took a little trip to Pigeon Forge, TN. We didn’t plan anything big. We just wanted to relax and enjoy ourselves. And we have done that well.

Natalie fully enjoyed the snow that had piled up on the balcony of our condo.

We traveled to Gatlinburg to snoop around a little bit. We played blacklight mini-golf and went through a Mirror Maze. We all had a blast at the Mirror Maze because none of us had ever gone in one before. We were a bit dillusional when we came out!

We even stopped in front of Mt. La Cante to take pictures.

And on Thursday night, we all crashed in the living room to watch the Tennessee Vols take on the North Carolina Tar Heels (in progress and update soon to come)!

Tennessee lost in double-overtime. In all honesty and reality, the ref screwed us over when he only gave NC a 5-yard penalty for illegal participation instead of 15 yards. That would have equaled a 50-yard field goal attempt which would have been slim to none in chances of making it. Oh well. Sun will still come up tomorrow.
